Charlie Knight, Virginia author of Valley Thunder: The Battle of Newmarket reviewed The Richmond Theater Fire on his blog this July. You may read it here, but here’s a sample:
“It is surprising to me that given the importance of the theater fire in Richmond’s history that it took more than 200 years after the event for the first worthwhile study of it to appear. This is definitely a much-needed work. The depth [of] research is incredible, both into the fire and Richmond’s religious history as well as early American theater history.”
Knight had some great things to say about The Richmond Theater Fire (and a few critiques, which I addressed in the comments section) and I really appreciate his taking the time to thoughtfully read this book.
