My deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who has purchased a copy of The Richmond Theater Fire: Early America’s First Great Disaster! Sales have surpassed the 500 copy mark, which is quite good, I understand, for a book published by a university press.
If you haven’t yet read The Richmond Theater Fire, which is up for yet another award, you can order a copy (or an electronic copy) on the web, from LSU Press, or at your favorite bookstore. Or you could borrow one from your local library! Is it not there yet? Many libraries eagerly accept patron requests and will place an order if they don’t have a copy on their shelves. So put in a request, read it once it arrives, and others can enjoy it as well!
P.S. I suspect my mother–who tells everyone about this book– is responsible for a number of those sold copies, so thanks to all of my Mom’s friends for buying a copy and for their encouragement!
