Library of Virginia Literary Award Nominee

The Richmond Theater Fire: Early America’s First Great Disaster is one of the nominees for the Library of Virginia’s 2013 award for nonfiction!

There is a large field of nonfiction writers this year, and nominees include award-winning historians like Robert Louis Wilken, Scott Nelson, Cynthia Kierner, and Jon Meacham. Also on the list: Sissy Spacek, whose memoir is up for the award (she’s a Virginian)! Take a look at the nominee list if you’re in the market for some good books on the Commonwealth or by those who live therein.  (Poetry nominees and fiction works have their own categories as well.) Finalists will be announced this month and the big Literary Festival shindig happens in October. Cheers, fellow writers! And well done!
