On Friday, December 17th, Greg McQuade's popular "I Have a Story" segment featured the Richmond Theater Fire. It's the 210th anniversary, and Greg did it up in style, with a sneak peak of the Historic Richmond Foundation's Monumental Church on Broad Street (yes, they even went down to the crypt!) and interviews with me, HRF's Danielle Worthing Porter, and everyone's favorite local history writer, Harry Kollatz, Jr.
I spoke with Greg about the historic disaster at the Library of Virginia in Special Collections, where the staff pulled out some rare treasures--photographs, a broadside of the performance in 1811, and historic newspapers.
